Internet links

Some webpages make it a sport to acquire as many links as possible. That makes you better to find at Google, definitely. Mitesco refers only to a few pages. And we tell you why.

4. Application. Judo for Peace.

For Jigoro Kano this global initiative would be a dream: judo in the service of a global jita kyoei.

Books

Of course we want to play for a judo library catalogue. But then you get a mouse-arm and that is a bit tricky for a good kumikata what we all want after reading Mitesco .

So, just a few books. Books with only techniques and sports we don't recommend. Four English books we appreciate. The authors speak for themselves. Perhaps the best ones ever written about judo.

Kodokan Judo:

The Essential Guide to Judo (1956, rev.. 1986, ed.1994)

by Jigoro Kano

Mind Over Muscle:

Writings from the Founder of Judo

by Jigoro Kano

The Canon of Judo: Classic Teachings on Principles and Techniques (from 1956!)

by Kyuzo Mifune

Black Belt

by Neil Ohlenkamp

NEW: Judo Memoirs of Jigoro Kano by Brian Watson.

Apart from Mind over Muscle a new book full of Kano texts. A must!
